“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;
and you will be my witnesses.” Act 1:8
“Strengthened with all power according to His glorious might.”
Colossians 1:11

The inner life of Jesus was unique. It is the life of God lived out
in a person. This life by His Spirit is given to every true believer. But it
must be nurtured and sustained by a daily desire and decision to be in touch
with the Lord; to receive the promised power to live His kind of life
instead of our own self-oriented life. How serious can one be about this if
they refuse to take time each day to come to God’s presence in prayer and
hear Him speak to their heart through His Word?
HE HIMSELF IS OUR POWER. Time with Him brings the necessary strength to
resist the influence and control of the present world system.
The call of God has not changed. The majority may adore the glitter,
glamour and glory of this culture but the true believer has tasted qualities
of another world. “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him.” Psalm
25:14. The love, joy and peace of God come only to those who will receive
the spiritual power to renounce and resist lesser things and partake of His
inner life.
Here is an acrostic that can be used each morning to help you begin
your day with Him.

P – Lord, I PRESENT myself to You this day. I PRAISE You for Your goodness
and love to me. Romans 12:1-2, Psalm 100:4.
O – Lord, OPEN my heart to Your Word and OPEN Your Word to my heart.
Psalm 119:18, Ephesians 5:26, John 15:3.
W– Lord, WASH my heart and mind with Your truth. (Here read a portion of
scripture).
E – Lord, ENERGIZE me to do all I must do today in Your Spirit. Colossians
3:17
R – Lord, please REMIND me of Your presence and power in every situation
today. John 14:26.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord
and in the power of His might.” Ephesians 6:10
